History of The Pentecostals of the Antelope Valley : The Connect Point

In July of 2003, Pastor Frank A. Manzano II began a Home Missions work in the city of Quartz Hill located in the Antelope Valley of southern California.  Having served locally in the ministry for over five years, Pastor Manzano was well aware of God’s calling to fulfill His purpose in the Antelope Valley.  With a desire to see a powerful church built that would one day have the ability, influence, and effectiveness to change the way the residents and community perceived apostolic church, the church began it's work.  The church opened in a rented and shared church facility; with block walls, grout lines, old gray carpet, and dingy paint it wasn’t anything special to behold, but the members of The Connect Point were able to look past the physical presence and see what could be done.  Through it all, it was a very eventful first year that saw the congregation reach approximately 40 to 50 people.  However, a couple of large families relocated and on November 7, 2004, the service consisted of Pastor Manzano, the First Lady of the church, the Jackson family of 5, and Sister Sack totaling 8 people!

This is when The Pentecostals of Antelope Valley : The Connect Point, was officially born.  The church members, throughout this period of supposed adversity, continued to pursue God's work and will for them, here in the community of Quartz Hill.  Then, another test came for the young church and it's Pastor that would test his commitment to God's will and calling for him here in the Antelope Valley.  On December 12, while out for Christmas Dinner, the Pastor and his wife were told, by the Jackson family, that they would be moving to Nevada early in the next year.

More committed than ever and having a firm grasp on the vision that the Lord had given him, Pastor Manzano and his wife set out for Because of the Times in January of 2005, and there he received confirmation of the Lord’s purpose in a message delivered by Reverend Lee Stoneking.  He returned to those precious 8 saints and immediately began a renovation project on the church.  Once completed it had a whole new feel, it felt like home!  It was now time for REVIVAL!  The church members began to bring, invite, and encourage all those they came into contact with to come and visit the church.  It wasn’t long before they began to experience a tremendous move of God’s spirit and the congregation began to grow.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to say that The Pentecostals of the Antelope Valley : The Connect Point is presently seeing 150 souls every Sunday and God is moving.
