Simply stated, biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose. From the beginning, fasting has been a normal part of a relationship with God. As expressed by the impassioned plea of David in Psalm 42, fasting brings one into a deeper, more intimate, and powerful relationship with the Lord. When you eliminate food from your diet for a number of days, your spirit becomes uncluttered by the things of this world and amazingly sensitive to the things of God. Pastor Manzano has asked for everyone who is part of The PAV Family to join us on this fast in some way, as we want to make this a united effort. There is power in prayer and fasting, and there is also power in unity, so we are expecting to see God do great things during and after this corporate sacrifice! Many will be participating in The Daniel Fast, but there also are other types of fasts. Infants and small children should not fast. Older children who can understand fasting can participate by giving up a snack or favorite food. If you have, or think you have, a medical condition, please consult with your doctor before beginning any kind of fast.
